Effect of Sprinkler and Basin Irrigation Systems on Yield and Water Use Efficiency of Canola Crop

An experiment was conducted to assess the yield potential and Water Use Efficiency (WUE) of Canola crop grown under sprinkler basin irrigation techniques on a clay loam soil. The designed by Principles Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with two treatments, viz. T1 (sprinkler method) T2 (basin method), replicated four times. In given order (T1 T2), 3,605 4,453 m3 ha-1 water, hence, 19% saving achieved WUE attained 0.39 0.25 m-3 therefore, 35.8% enhanced While comparing agronomic parameters procedures, all (plant height, number branches plant-1, pods pod length, seeds pod-1 biomass plant-1) superior in case treatment than soil (ECse), Sodium Absorption Ratio (SAR), Exchangeable Percentage (ESP) increased, decreased both however, maximum increase ECse, SAR ESP, decrease occurred Statistical analysis showed that yield, use, WUE, pH, SAR, differed significantly (p < 0.05) treatments.
